Tragopogon dubius

Yellow Goat's-Beard

Floret Dissected

Regina
15-June-2020

As the style emerges from the corolla tube, it often makes a loop before entering the anther tube.  The anther tube is formed from five united anthers.  The filaments are, however, distinct and arise from the inner surface of the corolla tube. The style has not yet emerged from the apex of the anther tube in this specimen.  The ligule has been removed from the lower specimen in order to clearly expose the filaments.
